Some of COME UNITY's RECENT EVENTS and FUNDRAISERS:

11/23 Watoto Children's Choir

COME UNITY and Storehouse Church present Watoto Children’s Choir. This incredible group has travelled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the estimated 50 million children in Africa, orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and disease. Accompanied by a team of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission through their stories, music and dance. Watoto choirs act as ambassadors to raise awareness about the plight of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Africa.

9/18 - Illustrating Truths at the Painted Bride

Professional artists from all over the region come together to illustrate some of the truths and statistics COME UNITY is seeking to change. These talented choreographers will create new works that tell the stories of the 1 in 6 people in our world who lack clean drinking water, or that for every 100 boys there are just 83 girls enrolled in primary school around the world. These truths will be danced and painted, colored, sketched and performed in a dance showcase accompanied with an art auction. Featured dancing and choreography by Philadanco, Lustigdancetheatre, 180 Dance, and Gallim (NYC). We are excited to present this amazing program as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Fest. Be there.

1/15/09 COME UNITY spends time with the students at Penn Christian Academy.  Ms. Joanne Russell's class will be saving their coins for us in the next few weeks.  Thanks PCA!

"The students of PCA have been raising funds for COME UNITY since 1/15.  Teacher Joanne Russell writes, "One girl emptied out her piggy bank, did some extra chores around the house, and asked her neighbors for some money for Come Unity.  She brought in $60!  This other little girl made up her own Come Unity fliers and passed them out at her church.  She is still collecting money for Come Unity by doing that!   One boy in my class emptied out his wallet and donated $138!  I told him that was amazing! I asked him why he wanted to do this and he said that he watched the news and saw how Haiti was in trouble and how we are raising money for people to have clean water.  He goes on and says that because of these things he told himself that if he ever sees a homeless person he will always empty out his wallet and give them all that he has!    Everyday students are donating money, whether it's a penny or more!  They are having fun and are excited to be a part of this ministry!"
